Braden played trumpet in a brass ensemble for Solo/Ensemble contest last Saturday. His group won a gold medal! We really are proud of him! He does seem to have that musical bent. He is always humming something and he has been doing that since infancy!
Anyway, we were having a conversation about a particular new friend Braden has this year. Jon and I were telling him that we thought this friend was like a friend that moved away a couple of years ago. Braden was arguing that the two friends were not alike at all. (His was missing our point!) After a while, we told him how we thought that God has placed this new friend in his life to help fill the void left by the other friend that moved away. Braden immediately had an "AHA!" moment and said: "That makes a lot of sense!" I told Jon we should write that down, because we may not hear that again for the next 10 or so years!
