Braden's 12th Birthday!

Braden turned 12 on April 20th! Only one more year before the teens! He loves Star Wars and we put his action figures on the cake. Braden had to lick icing off of their feet! He wanted a Lego Imperial Cruiser and the original trilogy X-Box game. Both had to be found online. Without Jon home much this month, I couldn't depend on his ebay account, so I had to go with amazon. Luckily, the Lego's arrived two days before the cake and the game on his birthday! He was very happy! We are very blessed to have him! He loves to be funny, but still loves to be hugged. He is a sharp boy with an eye for details. He loves music and is always humming a tune. Now if we could just get him to practice his trumpet...

Egg Hunt

On Sunday afternoon the kids had an Easter egg hunt. Braden and Calvin hid eggs for Emmi and Dawson. Emmi found the egg with an extra hour of computer time in it. Maybe I didn't think that through so well... Then Jon and I hid a few harder ones for Braden and Calvin to find. The problem was we spent 20 minutes looking for the last three eggs! (That's why you count them first and let younger people hide them. At least they remember WHERE they hid them!) Calvin was a little upset he didn't find the prize egg (extra video game time), but he got over it quickly! It was a beautiful day that the Lord had made!

Magic Wands

Emmi received this streamer wand (I don't know what it is really called.) from her Aunt Lisa. I had no idea Emmi could get it to do anything. She came down into the kitchen and said, "Watch this, Mommy!" I was impressed and said, "Do that again so I can take a picture!" I think they use these in gymnastics. The first time I tried it, I had it wrapped around my body! I guess everything takes a little practice...

Easter Sunday

We are so thankful for our risen Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! After church we fed lunch to a few members of the golf team and then the other half came later to watch the Master's and eat the leftovers. We made our kids take this picture out on the deck after church. It must have only been 40 degrees! However, they are still smiling!

"I lost my Daddy!"

Jon was gone with the golf team for 9 days over Spring Break! Emmi was quite discontented and began saying on her own: "I lost my Daddy!" Nevermind that she misses him, she has just "lost" him. Doesn't it just break your heart? Anyway, Emmi made up for it by loving on Fancy, the new dog. The dog now runs when she sees Emmi coming because she has given her so much "love".

Kite Flying Fun

It was March and windy, so we decided to try kite flying out behind our house in the field. Emmi and Dawson gave up rather quickly because it was a chilly morning. Calvin was having much trouble with his strings and tails getting tangled. Braden, however, had his kite sailing and all of the string out! He must have flown it for 45 minutes! If you look closely you can see the speck of a kite above the trees.
